The Chattanooga Future Fund is a tool to make college and career training more accessible for all students.
Starting January 2025, every student in a Hamilton County School in kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, & 10th grade will receive $100 in a savings account with his or her name on it…with the opportunity to earn more.
This money can grow over time and can be used to pay for education expenses after high school.
When a student graduates, the money can help pay for a wide variety of educational expenses including:
Apprenticeships in trades,
technology, or other fields
Technical training
for high-demand,
high-wage jobs
Two or four-year
colleges and universities
Education-related expenses like housing, technology, books, and transportation

Every eligible student is automatically given a Chattanooga Future Fund account with $100 to start. You can grow your student's account even more by taking additional steps. The first step is easy: activate the account and claim your $100! Get started below.
Claim Your $100 and Activate Your Account
Every eligible student enrolled in a Hamilton County public school can claim a Future Fund account with a $100 deposit for college and career savings.
Open/ Connect Your Own Career and College Savings Account
The Future Fund is an opportunity for our community to contribute towards your student’s savings. If you’d like to contribute personally, once you have activated your Future Fund account, connect it to a new or existing personal college and career savings account (TNStars or Pinnacle option) to earn an additional $25 for your child’s Future Fund. (Optional step)
Grow Your Savings
Make an initial deposit of $5 or more into your connected personal college and career savings account to earn another $25 for your child’s Future Fund account. (Optional Step)
